‘How to Get Away With Murder’ to Stream on Netflix

First season of Viola Davis-led drama will be available Sept. 18

ABC’s hit series “How to Get Away With Murder” will be added to the Netflix catalog, the streaming platform announced Friday.

The legal drama, produced by ABC Studios and starring Viola Davis, will be available beginning Sept. 18. for Netflix customers to stream in the U.S., Canada, and Latin America. With the acquisition, Netflix is now streaming home to the ABC’s entire Thursday-night lineup of Shonda Rhimes-produced dramas. The service also has in its library “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Scandal.”

Netflix is dedicated to bringing great entertainment to our members around the world, in both current and future markets,” Netflix vice president of global TV Sean Carey said in a statement. “We’re excited to offer global audiences season one of ‘How To Get Away With Murder,’ offering members a chance to discover it for the first time or relive the drama of season one before the new season’s premiere.”

“‘How to Get Away With Murder’ is ABC’s highest rated new series from the 2014-15 season,” Disney-ABC home entertainment and television distribution president Janice Marinelli added. “This agreement to make our season one episodes available underscores the value of this series, and reinforces the overall popularity of ‘How To Get Away With Murder’ on ABC and its other first-run platforms around the world.”

The series is executive produced by Pete Nowalk with Rhimes, Betsy Beers and Bill D’Elia.
