“Inside Amy Schumer” co-creator and executive producer Dan Powell has signed a deal with First Look Media, the company announced on Thursday.

The producer, whose previous credits also include “The Daily Show” and the Comedy Central animated series “Ugly Americans,” will develop film, TV and digital projects for First Look under the new agreement.

Powell’s current projects for First Look include “The Nib,” a short-form animated series based on Matt Bors’ political cartoon site of the same name, and another short form scripted series from “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” writer Cirocco Dunlap.

Powell is also currently in negotiations with the company to write a feature-length drama based on a pre-existing property.

“Dan has a lot of gears,” Adam Pincus, First Look Media’s EVP of Programming & Content, said in a statement. “He’s great with comedy, of course, but he’s got real feel for drama and animation, regardless of whether it’s TV, digital or features. He writes, directs, and is great with talent — he is pretty much the ideal kind of creative person for us to be in business with, given the range of things we’re doing here.”

“I am very excited to have a first look deal at First Look Media because I like companies that take their names literally” Powell added. “Also, I like that they have a smart and energetic team that is determined to create funny, compelling, subversive new content for a variety of platforms.”
