International B.O. Pulled ‘Up’ Again

Disney’s high-flying “Up” stayed on top of the foreign boxoffice, while “Surrogates” settled for second.

Disney’s animated "Up" held its high ground over the weekend, posting No. 1 showings in Norway, Australia and Germany.

"Up" took in about $12.3 million during its screenings in 25 markets, making it the top foreign grosser over the weekend.

The Bruce Willis replicant movie "Surrogates" put Disney into second place overseas, bringing in about $12.2 milion in 10 territories. The sci-fi thriller did strong numbers in Russia.

"Inglourious Basterds" continued its foreign campaign for Universal/Weinstein by adding another $7.5 million in 41 battle zones.

Sony’s "District 9" took $6.1 million while the distributor’s "The Ugly Truth" romanced its way to $5.8 million.

MGM’s reimagining of "Fame" slip-slided to $4.3 million in its U.K. debut.
