“Into the Woods” and “Guardians of the Galaxy” received three nominations and “Interstellar,” “The Grand Budapest Hotel” and “The Theory of Everything” received two each from the Make-Up Artists and Hair Stylists Guild, which announced its nominees on Thursday for 2014’s outstanding achievement in makeup and hair.
Overall, 18 different films were nominated in five different film categories, with another 11 categories covering television and additional categories covering commercials and theatrical presentations.

Two of the movies that are on the Academy’s seven-film shortlist in the makeup and hairstyling category, “The Amazing Spider-Man 2” and “Noah,” did not receive any nominations from the MUAHS voters.
And one of the guild’s most-nominated films, “Into the Woods,” did not make the Oscar shortlist.
In the television categories, “Fargo” received four nominations, while “American Horror Story: Freak Show” and “Houdini” each received three.
Other programs receiving multiple nominations include “Boardwalk Empire,” “The Walking Dead,” “Dancing With the Stars,” “Orange is the New Black,” “True Detective,” “Key & Peele,” “Mad Men,” “Masters of Sex” and “Downton Abbey.”

The awards will take place Saturday, Feb. 14 on the Paramount Pictures lot, with honorary awards going to makeup artist Rick Baker and hair stylist Kathryn Blondell.
