John Krasinski Is on the Run in First ‘Jack Ryan’ Season 3 Trailer (Video)

The eight-episode third season arrives on Prime Video on Dec. 21

John Krasinski’s Jack Ryan is back in the first trailer for the long-awaited third season of the Prime Video series. Fans have been waiting over three years since Season 2 of the series concluded, but “Jack Ryan” Season 3 arrives as a special Christmas present from Amazon this year with a Dec. 21 release date.

In “Jack Ryan” Season 3, Krasinski returns in the titular role with Wendell Pierce and Michael Kelly reprising their roles as CIA Officer James Greer and former CIA Officer Mike November.

The story this time around finds Ryan working as a CIA case officer in Rome, when he is tipped off that the Sokol Project, a secret plan to restore the Soviet Empire, is being resurrected more than 50 years after it was thought to have been shut down. Jack embarks on a mission to confirm the intelligence, but things quickly go awry, and he is wrongly implicated in a larger conspiracy. Accused of treason, with a Red Notice out for his arrest, Jack is forced to run from his own government, if he has any hope of uncovering the rogue faction before it’s too late. Crisscrossing Europe as he is hunted by former allies and new enemies alike, Jack races against the clock to stop the cascade of destabilizing conflicts from leading to global catastrophe.

New cast members this season include Nina Hoss as Czech President Alena Kovac and Betty Gabriel as CIA Rome Station Chief Elizabeth Wright.

All eight episodes of “Jack Ryan” Season 3 premiere on Prime Video on Dec. 21. The show has already been renewed for a fourth and final season to debut at a later date.

“Tom Clancy’s Jack Ryan” is co-produced by Amazon Studios, Paramount Television Studios, and Skydance Television, and executive produced by Andrew Form, Allyson Seeger, John Krasinski, Vaun Wilmott, Brad Fuller and Michael Bay. Additionally, Tom Clancy and Skydance Television’s David Ellison, Dana Goldberg and Bill Bost executive produce the third season, along with Mace Neufeld and Carlton Cuse.
