James Franco can add Comedy Central roastee to a list of jobs that includes actor, director, soap star, student, author, and Oscar host: The ever-busy Franco has agreed to be mocked by some of his closest friends for the network's latest special.
Comedy Central's James Franco roast will tape in Los Angeles in August and premiere on Labor Day. The actor's documentary, "Francophrenia," will also debut on Comedy Central digital and video on demand platforms after it airs.
"If only James Franco was a more successful, multi-hyphenated, incessant creative risk taker in different media, he'd be the perfect person to roast. Oh well… I suppose we'll just have to make do,” said Kent Alterman, president of content development and original programming at the network.
"I've dreamed about this Roast for as long as I can remember," said Franco.
