James Marsden, Thomas Middleditch and Rosario Dawson will star in Bron Studios’ first animated feature film, “Henchmen,” the company announced on Friday.
The star-studded voice cast also includes Alfred Molina, Nathan Fillion, Jane Krakowski, Rob Riggle, Craig Robinson and Will Sasso.
Marsden will voice Hank, a fallen henchman who must become a hero and lead his team (Middleditch, Krakowski and Robinson) to prevent Baron Blackout (Molina) from taking over the world, and save his love interest (Dawson) in the process. Fillion, best known for ABC’s “Castle” will voice superhero Captain Superior.
The film is written and directed by Adam Wood (“Escape from Planet Earth,” “Space Chimps”) and produced by Bron Studios in association with CW Media Finance.
Aaron L. Gilbert and Luke Carroll will produce for Bron, while Jason Cloth of CW Media and Bron’s Brenda Gilbert will executive produce. WME Global is handling sales of the film outside Canada, where eOne Canada will distribute the movie.
“We are absolutely thrilled to have such exceptional actors bring life to the characters in our film,” said Bron Studios’ managing director Aaron L. Gilbert in a statement. “It’s the next step in making the unique world of Henchmen, our first animated feature film, truly spectacular.”
