Jason Bateman’s wife Amanda Anka was groped by the hotel owner André Balazs in 2014, according to a report in the New York Times on Thursday.

The inappropriate contact occurred at a dinner party hosted at one of Balazs’ London hotels following the premiere of “Horrible Bosses 2.” According to the report, Balazs stuck his hand underneath Anka’s skirt and grabbed her crotch. In response, Bateman spit his gum in the Balazs’ face and the couple left the hotel.

Through a spokesperson, Bateman and Anka confirmed the account, calling the behavior “outrageous and vile.” The story was also corroborated by witnesses, including actress Mary Elizabeth Ellis, who attended the party with her husband, “Horrible Bosses” star Charlie Day.

A successful hotelier, Balazs’ portfolio of properties include The Mercer in New York and Chateau Marmont in Hollywood. Multiple former employees were among the other women to accuse him of sexual assault in the New York Times report on Thursday.

A former employee identified only as Sarah described a 1991 encounter in which “he grabbed her arm, pinned her against a wall and covered her mouth with his mouth. He put his hand down the front of her pants and pushed his fingers in her vagina.” Another unnamed former employee said Balazs followed her into the bathroom and grabbed her crotch.

Representatives for Balazs did not return TheWrap’s request for comment.
