Jennifer Lawrence has revealed she and Lynne Ramsay are planning to collaborate in film adaptation of Ariana Harwicz’s “Die, My Love.”
The film is an intimate portrait of a woman in rural France who is driven to insanity amid marriage and motherhood. As of now, there’s no word on when the film will be released.
Ramsay, though, is a star in her own right, as she’s has directed several hit films, including “Ratcatcher,” “We Need to Talk About Kevin,” “Morven Callar” and “You Were Never Really There.”
In a New York Times profile, the “Silver Linings Playbook” actress spoke about her role in the upcoming Apple TV+ drama “Causeway,” in which she plays a soldier who struggles to adjust to her life upon returning to her New Orleans hometown.
She also expressed a desire to break away from studio-sized films and instead, continue doing smaller, more independent fare, like “Causeway.” Lawrence said that while she doesn’t regret signing on to “The Hunger Games” franchise, which she starred in from 2012 to 2015, she didn’t expect all the subsequent fame and attention she would receive.
“Those movies were fantastic,” she told the New York Times. “The only thing that gave me pause was just how famous it would make me.”
She also spent fall shooting the comedy “No Hard Feelings,” in which she plays an irresponsible woman hired by a rich couple to befriend their socially awkward kid (played by Andrew Barth Feldman). “No Hard Feelings” will be the second produced film from Lawrence and Justine Ciarrochi.
“I just want to laugh for two hours and forget about the fact that America is slipping into autocracy,” Lawrence said.
Lawrence is also set to star in a biopic of Hollywood agent Sue Mengers.
