Jenny McCarthy Slammed on Twitter for Anti-Vaccine Campaign

“The View” co-host boasts about below-average Q score

“The View” host Jenny McCarthy was mocked for her campaign against vaccines after she tweeted the unrelated question, “What is the most important personality trait you look for in a mate?”

The response was swift.

“Someone who vaccinates, b/c I’d want our kids to survive,”  tweeted Seth Mnookin, author of “The Panic Virus,” which debunks claims by McCarthy and others that vaccines cause autism.

Added another critic: “While I do love getting diseases that were eradicated in the last century, I would say vaccinated is a trait I look for.”

Said another: “Someone who respects that science isn’t on some secret malicious crusade to screw us over and that vaccinations save lives.”

Though mountains of medical evidence contradict her, McCarthy has claimed since her son was diagnosed with autism in 2005 that vaccines are linked to autism. Her main evidence is a a study by a former intestinal specialist that the British Medical Journal has debunked as “an elaborate fraud.”

McCarthy tweeted Monday to her 1.13 million followers: “Thank you to all the haters who tweet my name. You make my Q SCORE higher and higher. It’s because of you I continue to work. Thank you! : )”

A Q Score references public awareness of a celebrity, as well as his or her popularity. TheWrap recently published a widely-read report revealing “The Most and Least Liked Daytime Hosts,” which indicated that McCarthy’s popularity is actually not very high. The average celebrity scores a 15, and she has only a 7.
