Josh and Gabi’s parents don’t get along as well as their kids do, judging by a new clip from next week’s episode of “Young & Hungry.”
In the clip, Josh’s judgmental mother Kathy, played by Cheryl Hines, and Gabi’s protective father Nick, played by Jerry O’Connell, have it out over their kids’ new relationship.
“You see this Jerry Springer scene here,” Kathy says to an incensed Nick in the clip. “This is what I’m talking about when I say your daughter lacks the pedigree for my son.”
The episode, titled “Young & Parents,” premieres next Wednesday, and will see Josh and Gabi’s night ruined when Gabi’s dad, Nick, surprises her with a visit. Determined to make a good impression, Josh embellishes his relationship with his own mom, Kathy, and sets up a dinner for the four of them.
But Gabi’s awkward double date seems tame compared to an embarrassing encounter in the bedroom. When Sofia feels she’s been discriminated against, she calls for a boycott. Meanwhile, talk of the future has someone taking a step back.
“Young & Hungry” airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Freeform.
