Jimmy Kimmel Says Trump Hates Jeff Bezos Because Bezos ‘Is Actually a Billionaire’ (Video)

Kimmel took a shot at Trump’s net worth, which has been reported to be less than what Trump claims

It’s been a wild week in the world of Donald Trump, with the president providing late night hosts with mounds of material: from the White House Easter party to Trump claiming that actually he’s not nice to Russia at all to the trade war Trump started really picking up steam with China firing back with tariffs of its own on U.S. imports.

And in the midst of all that, Trump also has managed to start a feud with Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos, claiming falsely that the U.S. Postal Service loses money on all the Amazon packages it delivers.

Jimmy Kimmel spent some time talking about Trump’s ongoing attacks on Bezos and Amazon during his “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” monologue on Tuesday, taking exception to Trump’s strange choice of words and bad spelling in his most recent Twitter assault, and also suggesting Trump’s true motive for going after Bezos beyond just the common thought that it’s because the Bezos-owned Washington Post is constantly digging up dirt on him.

“The President has been lashing out at Amazon this week, repeatedly. He says Amazon has been taking advantage of the U.S. Postal Service. After he claimed the post office loses a dollar fifty for every Amazon delivery — which, by all accounts, isn’t true — he tweeted this one-star review of Amazon today defending that,” Kimmel said before reading the previously mentioned Trump tweet.

“I am right about Amazon costing the United States Post Office massive amounts of money for being their Delivery Boy. Amazon should pay these costs (plus) and not have them bourne by the American Taxpayer. Many billions of dollars. P.O. leaders don’t have a clue (or do they?)!” Trump tweeted on Tuesday. Kimmel noted, of course, that “bourne” is not how you spell the word Trump was trying to use.

“But why insult the people at the post office by calling them ‘Amazon’s Delivery Boys’? They deliver things. That’s what they do,” Kimmel said.

“That doesn’t make them boys. They’re adults. The reason Trump has it out for Amazon is because the owner, Jeff Bezos, also owns the Washington Post — the newspaper that constantly digging up stories on him and his people,” he continued, before getting to the punchline regarding Trump’s oft-questioned claim of billionaire status.

“And also Trump is jealous because Jeff Bezos is actually a billionaire.”
