Jimmy Kimmel is getting into the matchmaking business.

The host of ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live!” is temporarily taking over another show on his network, “The Bachelor.” He’s set to guest star on Monday’s episode of the reality series, in which he will be tasked with helping a lovelorn bachelor pick a bride.

The reality dating series kicked off its 19th Cycle on Jan. 5. This season centers on around an unlucky-in-love Iowa resident named Chris Soules. On Monday’s episode, “Amazing Jar,” Chris will take 12 of the remaining bachelorettes to compete in a farm-themed race to see if they can handle being a farmer’s bride.

Kimmel will also trick Chris and a Canadian dance instructor named Kaitlyn into believing they’re headed for a date at a high-end club, but the duplicitous late night host has something else up his sleeve. Eventually, Chris and at least one lucky lady are said to end up back at the show’s hot tub.

The guest hosting stunt couldn’t come at a better time for “The Bachelor,” as Monday night’s episode was a series low for ratings. The show posted a 1.7/5, down 23 percent from last week, and had 6.4 milion total viewers. But ABC, helped by “Castle,” still managed to win the night.

Typically hosted by Chris Harrison, “The Bachelor” is a production of Next Entertainment in association with Warner Horizon Television. Mike Fleiss, Martin Hilton and Alycia Rossiter are the executive producers.

Jimmy Kimmel’s episode of “The Bachelor” airs Monday at 8 p.m. ET on ABC.
