Trump’s decisive victory in Indiana was enough to scare off his chief rival Texas Sen. Ted Cruz, who unexpectedly dropped out of the race on Tuesday. But Ohio Gov. John Kasich says he’s not going anywhere.

“Our party is facing a clear choice between positive solutions that can win in November and a darker path that will solve nothing and lead to Hillary Clinton in the White House, a Democrat Senate and a liberal Supreme Court,” Kasich’s chief strategist John Weaver told TheWrap in a statement.  “As long as it remains possible Governor Kasich will fight for the higher path. Ted Cruz ran a strong campaign, stood for conservative principles, and exposed a lot about Donald Trump. Governor Kasich will continue to campaign and offer the voters a clear choice for our country.”

Tuesday’s primary results in Indiana all but assured Trump’s nomination for the Republican party. Even GOP boss Reince Priebus conceded defeat, declaring Trump the “presumptive GOP nominee.” But in the unlikely case Trump does not manage to secure the 1,237 delegates needed to officially become the party’s presidential nominee, delegates can pick another candidate during July’s Republican National Convention in Kasich’s home state.
