Jon Hamm: Don’t Talk About My Penis

"They're called 'privates' for a reason"

Here's one way to make sure no one ever, ever talks about your penis again: Simply tell them to stop in a cover story for a major magazine.

In an interview with Rolling Stone, "Mad Men" star Jon Hamm addresses, among other things, some people's fixation with his penis. The New York Daily News, for example, citing an "AMC mole," recently said the actor was asked to wear underwear beneath his suits because his "impressive" genitalia was "distracting."

"They're called 'privates' for a reason," the Emmy nominee told Rolling Stone. "I'm wearing pants, for f—'s sake. Lay off. I mean, it's not like I'm a f—ing lead miner. There are harder jobs in the world. But when people feel the freedom to create Tumblr accounts about my cock, I feel like that wasn't part of the deal … But whatever. I guess it's better than being called out for the opposite."

To make sure no one focused on the part of the interview about Hamm's penis, Rolling Stone helpfully broke out a separate online story about it — and went with the cover line, "Don Draper Exposed."

So no more penis talk, okay?

Hamm's penis returns to "Mad Men" April 7.
