Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert Battle Over Who’s the World’s Biggest Star Wars Fan (Video)

In a promotional video for UNICEF Innovation Labs and Programs, the Comedy Central late night hosts battle with lightsabers and bad costumes for nerd supremacy

In a promotional video for UNICEF Innovation Labs and Programs, Jon Stewart and Stephen Colbert assured that they wouldn’t be winning any awards for acting as they battled it out to determine which of them was the World’s Biggest Star Wars Fan.

The video is part of a campaign by Omaze, to benefit UNICEF, that will see one lucky donor win a small role in the upcoming “Star Wars: Episode VII.” Omaze brings rare opportunities like this to the masses that normally would have gone to the highest bidder by crowd-funding donations and then randomly selecting one participant to win the prize.

To determine “Star Wars” nerd supremacy, Stewart donned Obi-Wan Kenobi’s robes and faced off against Colbert. But, as Colbert pointed out, Stewart was wielding Darth Vader’s red lightsaber. With a special effects budget “Sharknado” wouldn’t envy, the pair used the Force to trade the ‘saber back and forth before Colbert struck Stewart down.

That’s when things got really weird. Stewart’s cloak was empty, as Obi-Wan’s was in “Episode IV,” but then Stewart appeared behind him dressed as Princess Leia.

At this turn of events, Colbert decided to simply declare Stewart the winner, but not before the pair recited a classic exchange from Han Solo and Leia.
