Jon Stewart’s ‘Daily Show’ Replacement: Who Fans Would Choose (Exclusive Infographic)

Ranker.com’s readers have spoken, and they really want Tina Fey to get behind the fake news desk for Comedy Central show

Daily Show Replacements Ranker

If entertainment fans had their say, TV and film star Tina Fey would be the new host of “The Daily Show.” So, good luck with those contract negotiations, Comedy Central.

While pretty much a pipe dream, the former “SNL: Weekend Update” anchor sure has the chops to handle the workload. And one of her ex-deskmates on “Saturday Night Live,” Amy Poehler, also cracked Ranker.com’s list, coming in fourth.

The crowdsourced website polled 6,750 readers from Feb. 12 – March 6. Ranker selected 32 candidates for participants to select from.

But since the poll began, several potential replacements have taken their hats out of the ring. For example, John Oliver re-upped at HBO and Samantha Bee followed husband Jason Jones to TBS, where she will host her own comedy show. Still, they remained on the poll for consistency’s sake. Also, because it’s just a fun poll.

Other chosen candidates were never actually going to happen (right, Steve Carell?) but they were worth including as a dream scenario.

Among other findings in the results, per an infographic exclusive to TheWrap, Fey resonated highest with Baby Boomer voters, while Carell was the most popular among Millennials (aged 18-34).

Oliver, who filled in admirably for Stewart last summer, ranked strong across all age demographics.

Here is how the Top 10 shook out:
1. Tina Fey
2. John Oliver
3. Steve Carell
4. Amy Poehler
5. Lewis Black
6. Stephen Colbert
7. Louis C.K.
8. Samantha Bee
9. Aasif Mandvi
10. Bill Hader

Dead last per the findings was Moshe Kasher, with Aisha Tyler settling in just above him. Sorry, guys.
