Josh Gad Was ‘F–ing Pissed’ at How Daisy Ridley Spoiled ‘Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker’ (Video)

“I feel so honored but also so disrespected at the same time that you think I would want to experience that with an audience,” Gad says

Daisy Ridley spoiled the big twist to “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker” in style to her friend Josh Gad, and he was none too pleased.

Gad begged Ridley to invite him to the set of “The Rise of Skywalker,” and he finally got his wish during a closed set visit on the last day of filming. What he didn’t anticipate is that Ian McDiarmid, Emperor Palpatine himself, would be there ready to rock his world.

SPOILERS to follow …

“I’m so excited to see them getting onto the Millennium Falcon. And I get there, and Ian McDiarmid is in his Palpatine outfit,” Gad told Conan O’Brien on Monday. “So I’m there, and the first dialogue that comes out of his mouth is, ‘You are my granddaughter.’

“While I’m there. I was f—ing pissed,” he added. “I feel so honored but also so disrespected at the same time that you think I would want to experience that with an audience.”

Conan couldn’t believe it either, and he joked that most times you get the chance to visit a movie set, everything you see is very mundane.

“You’re anticipating seeing the film. Most time where people come to a set, they’re watching, ‘oh this is the scene where Han Solo is eating a sandwich,’ and they get 15 shots of it. Try it again! OK, let’s take it from this angle. And you see that,” he said.

“Hey come to my set, I’m M. Night Shyamalan. Oh hey, this is Bruce Willis. Hey, I’m Bruce Willis, I’m going to shoot my scene. ‘I’m a ghost,’” Gad joked in return.

To be fair, Gad has been asking for spoilers since the beginning, but Ridley clearly gave him more than he bargained for.
