Kal Penn to Host Fox Competition Special ‘Superhuman’

Two-hour show airs Monday, Jan. 4

Kal Penn will serve as host of the upcoming Fox competition special “Superhuman,” the network announced Monday.

The two-hour special will test the abilities of 12 contestants who possess a distinct, nearly super-human ability in fields such as memory, hearing, taste, touch, smell and sight. The contestants will be challenged to push their skills to the limit to determine if they are”superhuman” enough to win $100,000.

Penn, along with a guest panel that includes boxer Mike Tyson, actress Mary Lynn Rajskub and neurosurgeon Dr. Rahul Jandial, will provide insights and commentary, while guiding the studio audience, who ultimately will decide which contestant will win.

Based on a German competition format, the series is produced by Endemol Shine North America. Rob Smith, George Hurford Jones and David Friedman serve as executive producers.

“Superhuman” premieres Monday, Jan. 4 at 8 p.m. on Fox.
