Kanye West debuted his music video for “Fade” at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday night, and the video made its way online shortly after.
The video stars Teyana Taylor dancing in a gym, eventually making out with NBA-star fiancé Iman Shumpert in the shower. And in the last few seconds of the video, she turns into a cat-faced humanoid.
And the video is full of baby oil and sheep — oh, and a baby.
During his 4-minute speech introducing the video at the VMAs on Sunday, West also gave a shoutout to Amber Rose and Taylor Swift, and made sure to mention how much of a genius he was at least once, particularly for his other recent music video “Famous.”
“Fade” is another track on West’s “The Life of Pablo” album, which was released in February of this year.
After the debut of the music video, Shumpert went on to Twitter to bask in the glory of appearing in West’s music video, writing “You are all very welcome. #TeyanaTaylor shouts to Ye.”
The video was directed by Kanye and Eli Linnetz, who also directed the “Famous” music video. The track features additional vocals from Ty Dolla $ign and Post Malone.
