Keith Olbermann's Twitter account is unsuspended.
The MSNBC host returned to Twitter early Monday after saying Wednesday that he was "suspending" his account amid criticism that he was "a rape apologist." Olbermann had expressed support of WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange in the wake of sex crime allegations against him.
"I've discovered that I am accused of being a rape apologist in part because I didn't remove the quotes from the word rape in a retweet," Olbermann wrote in a Twitter post on Thursday. "I will thus unblock all blocks, wish you all a Merry Christmas and I'll suspend this account until this frenzy is stopped."
Earlier in the day, Olbermann apologized in a series of tweets.
Early Monday, Olbermann returned to Twitter with this post: "And we're back. Tweeting will resume tomorrow. Good night and… etc."
He also explained his new avatar, a picture of himself at Yankee Stadium in 1971.
