The Kenya Barris-produced comedy “Bright Futures” has moved over from ABC to NBC, where it has been picked up to pilot.

Titled “Bright Futures,” the pilot follows a group of friends as they stumble through the transition from the clueless, immature twentysomethings they are now, to the successful professionals they’re destined to be.

The single-camera comedy is written by “Grown-ish” alum Hale Rothstein and the duo of Danny Segal and Isaac Schamis. Rothstein will executive produce alongside Barris, and Segal and Schamis will serve as co-executive producers.

“Bright Futures” hails from ABC Studios, where Barris recently re-upped his overall deal for another four years. The project had previously been in development at ABC, but was not picked up to pilot by the network.

In addition to “Black-ish” and spin-off “Grown-ish,” Barris also has an untitled comedy pilot with co-writer Julie Bean at ABC this season. Originally ordered straight-to-series in December with Alec Baldwin attached to star, the project’s order was reduced to pilot last month after the actor left the project.
