Pop star Kesha filed a lawsuit Tuesday against her longtime producer, Dr. Luke, in which she claims he sexually assaulted her. Dr. Luke, whose real name is Lukasz Gottwald, is now countersuing the 27-year-old musician, accusing her of extortion.

Dr. Luke’s attorney, Christine Lepera, told TheWrap in a statement: “Kesha’s lawsuit is nothing more than a continuation of her bad and offensive acts. We are confident that Dr. Luke will prevail in all matters, and that our client will be awarded substantial damages for this malicious conduct.”

According to the lawsuit by TheWrap, Kesha states in her suit that Dr. Luke abused her starting when she was 18 years old. The singer alleges that before boarding a plane, she was forced to “snort something” which led to Dr. Luke forcing himself on her while she was drugged.

On another occasion, Kesha says Dr. Luke gave her “sober pills” after forcing her to drink with him. She claims she woke up the next day, naked in the producer’s bed, “sore, sick” and unable to remember how she got there.

Kesha also alleges that Dr. Luke physically abused her, citing a time he attacked her at his Malibu home, “violently thrashing his arms” at her. According to the suit, Kesha escaped by running down the Pacific Coast Highway and hiding in the nearby mountains.

Dr. Luke and his lawyer rejected Kesha’s accusations in a suit filed just hours later, saying the singer and her mother are trying to extort him into releasing her from an exclusive recording contract.

“Kesha and her mother are engaged in a campaign of publishing outrageous and untrue statements about Dr. Luke to third parties, including scurrilous and false statements of purported physical and mental abuse of Kesha,” Lepera told TheWrap. “These are allegations that Kesha and Pebe (Sebert) have themselves admitted are false.

“Undoubtedly, Kesha’s lawsuit is nothing more than a continuation of her bad and offensive acts,” she said.

Kesha’s attorney, Mark Geragos, responded to Dr. Luke’s complaint in a statement to TheWrap, saying: “This is just another pathetic and entirely predictable example of Dr. Luke’s continued abuse, and a misguided attempt to keep Kesha under his tyrannical control. This lawsuit has absolutely no basis in fact, the law or reality. Kesha is focused on reclaiming her voice and her freedom. She is determined to move on with her life and her career by putting this dark period behind her.”
