Here’s a gift for all of the Kesha fans who’ve supported her through her legal woes.
On Friday, the “Tik Tok” singer’s lawyer, Mark Geragos, released a 27-second snippet of a song by Kesha, dedicated to her supporters.
“A special thanks to everyone who has had her back,” Geragos wrote of the clip, accompanied by the hashtag, “#animals.”
The song is as simple as it is brief, with Kesha singing, “Oh I don’t know what I would do without you, oh no…”
Kesha is suing her producer, Dr. Luke, along with Sony, claiming that the producer sexually and emotionally abused her. Last week, a judge shot down the singer’s bid for an injunction so that she could record outside of her contract. The judge based the decision in part on the fact that Sony has offered to let her record with a producer other than Dr. Luke.
Dr. Luke has vehemently denied the allegations, and has filed his own countersuit.
Legal setback aside, fans have rallied in support of the singer, as have stars including Lady Gaga, Adele, Taylor Swift and Lena Dunham.
Presumably, the new track isn’t produced by Dr. Luke.
On Friday, fans of Kesha descended on Sony’s offices in New York City, to show support for Kesha and protest the company.
