Kevin Costner and Jake Gyllenhaal are set to star in “Honeymoon With Harry,” based on the book by Bart Baker, Amazon MGM Studios announced on Monday.
Glenn Ficarra and John Requa are directing the film from a script by Dan Fogelman.
The film follows a man (Gyllenhaal) as he decides to go on a honeymoon with his would-be father-in-law (Costner) after his fiancée dies two days before their wedding.
Producers include Fogelman, Mike Karz via Gulfstream Pictures and Jennifer Salke via her newly launched Sullivan Street Productions banner. “Honeymoon With Harry” marks Salke’s first project with Amazon MGM Studios and her producing debut.
The film reunites Mike Karz and Gulfstream Pictures with Amazon MGM Studios as he recently produced the hit romantic comedy “Upgraded,” starring Camila Mendes, and “One Fast Move,” starring KJ Apa and Eric Dane. “Honeymoon With Harry” was originally developed at New Line, where Karz set it up through his overall deal at the time.
Gyllenhaal is repped by WME, ID and Goodman, Genow, Schenkman, Smelkinson & Christopher. Costner is repped by WME. Ficarra and John Requa are repped by CAA and attorney Jeff Frankel. Fogelman is repped by WME.
