Kiefer Sutherland Offered Lead in ‘Heroes’ Creator Tim Kring’s New Pilot

Broadway role could conflict with shooting pilot

Kiefer Sutherland has been offered the lead in "Touch," the new Fox Pilot from "Heroes" creator Tim Kring, TheWrap has confirmed.

If the "24" star takes the role, it would be the biggest casting news of pilot season so far. The drama, from 20th Century Fox TV and Chernin Entertainment, is about a father — the role offered to Sutherland — who learns that his mute, autistic son can predict the future.

One wrinkle? Sutherland started previews last week in the Broadway revival of "That Championship Season." The show would likely conflict with filming.

The pilot is Kring's first since "Heroes."

Sutherland played "24" CTU agent Jack Bauer from 2001-10, earning an Emmy in 2006.
