Netflix premiered the first trailer for Season 2 of its “Lost in Space” reboot on Saturday, featuring the Robinson family, well, lost in space.
The 10-episode season, which will hit the streaming service on Christmas Eve, follows on the twist in the freshman season finale, with young Will pledging to find the Robot that saved him.
“With the Jupiter 2 stranded on a mysterious ocean planet without their beloved Robot, the Robinsons must work together, alongside the mischievous and manipulative Dr. Smith and the always charming Don West, to make it back to the Resolute and reunite with the other colonists,” Netflix’s description of the season reads. “But they quickly find all is not as it seems.”
Season 2 will introduce “a series of incredible new threats and unexpected discoveries emerge as they look for the key to finding Robot and safe passage to Alpha Centauri,” Netflix says.
Produced by Legendary Television, the Netflix original series stars Toby Stephens, Molly Parker, Maxwell Jenkins, Mina Sundwall, Taylor Russell, Ignacio Serricchio and Parker Posey. Zack Estrin, Kevin Burns, Jon Jashni, Matt Sazama and Burk Sharpless serve as executive producers.
The streamer also announced at the show’s New York Comic-Con panel that JJ Feild has joined the cast in the recurring guest role of Ben Adler, chief of advanced systems and artificial intelligence.
