Louis C.K. shines on screen in Oscar nominated films “Blue Jasmine” and “American Hustle,” but he told David Letterman on Monday that he wasn’t always a pleasure to work with.
“I don’t like to do movies,” C.K. told the “Late Show” host in the interview (above). “I don’t like auditioning. I don’t like trying to do that kind of work.”

After being asked to audition three times for 2008 Martin Lawrence comedy “Welcome Home, Roscoe Jenkins,” and failing to show up every time, he got the part, anyway. And director Malcolm D. Lee, Spike Lee‘s cousin, wasn’t exactly thrilled with the comedian’s performance.
“I had a huge part that is gone, because I was so bad. I was terrible. I couldn’t remember my lines. I couldn’t talk,” C.K. explained. “I don’t know why I was so bad in that movie. The director at one point said to me, ‘The things you say are very important, because if you don’t say them right, nobody understands what’s happening in the movie.’”
