‘Man of Steel’ Logo Revealed

Zack Snyder looks to be cooking up a far darker take on Superman

This isn't the same old "Man of Steel."

Warner Bros. is betting that director Zack Snyder can breathe some of the magic he brought to "300" into its Superman franchise. Based on the logo the studio shared with fans this week, Snyder is cooking up a far darker take on the man from Krypton.

The iconic shield has a muscular and burnished look in the promotional art Warner Bros. posted on Facebook and seems in keeping with the snazzy new costume Superman (Henry Cavill) will be sporting in the reboot.

In the first official shots leaked last summer, Cavill was outfitted in a more streamlined jumpsuit that mercifully abandoned Superman's red speedo, but kept his classic cape.

Snyder's take on the Superman hits theaters in summer 2013.

In addition to Cavill, the film co-stars Amy Adams as Lois Lane and Michael Shannon as the villainous General Zod.
