Mark Wahlberg gets a lesson in deepwater oil drilling from his 10-year-old daughter in the first trailer for Peter Berg‘s “Deepwater Horizon.”
The trailer cuts between his daughter’s explanation of her father’s job as an oil rig engineer and the catastrophic failure of the Deepwater Horizon that led to the massive 2010 oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico.
Based on true events, the story chronicles the courage of those who worked on the Deepwater Horizon and the extreme moments of bravery and survival in the face of what would become one of the biggest man-made disasters in world history.
The film stars Wahlberg as oil rig engineer Mike Williams and Kate Hudson as his wife Felicia. Gina Rodriguez, Dylan O’Brien, Kurt Russell and John Malkovich also star.
“Deepwater Horizon” is slated for a September 30 release.
