‘Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger’ Renewed for Season 2 at Freeform

San Diego Comic-Con 2018: Superhero drama to return for 10 additional episodes in spring 2019

Freeform has renewed “Marvel’s Cloak & Dagger” for a second season.

A clip announcing the renewal, which first premiered at San Diego Comic-Con on Friday, promises the 10-episode season would be “mayhem.” The drama is set to return for an additional 10 episodes in spring 2019.

Stars Olivia Holt, Aubrey Joseph, Emma Lahana and Ally Maki, as well as executive producers Joe Pokaski and Jeph Loeb were on hand to announce the renewal during the show’s presentation at the fan convention on Friday.

Based on the Marvel comic series, “Cloak and Dagger” follows the burgeoning partnership between Tandy Bowen (Holt) and Tyrone Johnson (Joseph), two teenagers from very different backgrounds who find themselves burdened and awakened to newly acquired superpowers while falling in love.

Tandy can emit light daggers and Tyrone has the ability to engulf others in darkness. They quickly learn they are better together than apart — but their feelings for each other make their already complicated world even more challenging. The series is a co-production of Marvel Television and ABC Signature Studios.

Freeform also debuted a sneak peek at the final two episodes of the first season, below.
