Netflix renewed its entire lineup of original podcasts for additional episodes Tuesday and announced new shows from “The Last Report” comic Katt Williams and “I Will Find You” author Harlan Coben.
“Podcasts are a way for members to get more of the genres, stories and personalities they love,” Brandon Riegg, Netflix Vice President of Nonfiction Series, said in a statement. “No matter where or when you want to listen or watch, we have a curated selection of podcasts representing the best of true crime, sports, comedy, food, and storytelling of every kind.”
The streamer has greenlit “Murder with My Husband,” “The Pete Davidson Show,” “Shut Up Evan,” “The Puzzle Room with David Kwong” and “Allegedly with Ellison Barber” for more episodes. In addition, Netflix has announced a slate of new podcast originals coming to its platform in the coming months, which span the true crime, sports, comedy and food genres.
“The Rotten Files with Stephanie Soo,” “Wishbone Kitchen with Meredith Hayden,” “Last Trace with Kaelyn Moore,” and “Couldn’t Agree Less with Allison & Isaac” headline the streamer’s new podcast titles. Williams and Coben, meanwhile, have been set as the hosts of two new podcasts as well, which will premiere later this year.
“I’m excited to create my first original podcast with Netflix — they’ve been a wonderful partner in telling new stories. I’ve always been fascinated by plot twists, in fiction and in real life, especially the unexpected turns that change who we are,” Coben said Tuesday. “What’s the plot twist that formed you, surprised you, changed your life for the better — or even the worse? That’s a question I’m excited to explore together with a wide variety of guests, from writers and artists to entrepreneurs, actors, athletes, and everyday people with extraordinary stories. I’m looking forward to seeing where this next collaboration takes us.”
“The Rotten Files” and “Wishbone Kitchen” are both streaming episodes now on Netflix. Moving forward, the streamer’s upcoming podcast premieres include “On Campus: Game of the Week” (Sept. 4), “Last Trace with Kaelyn Moore” (Sept. 28) and “Couldn’t Agree Less with Allison & Isaac” (Oct. 22).
Netflix has also set deals to host new episodes of “Outlore with Eleanor Neal” and former ESPN analyst Ryan Clark’s “The Pivot” podcast. “The Pivot” will arrive on the streaming service on Sept. 8. “Outlore” will follow on Sept. 27.
The streamer’s latest moves continue its ongoing, aggressive push into the podcasting space. Netflix currently hosts more than 60 podcasts on its platform, and that catalog seems primed to only continue to grow.
