Disney’s big-screen adaptation of “Into the Woods” is coming clearer into focus.
In a new behind-the-scenes video posted by EW, all-star cast members of the Rob Marshall film show off their vocal chops for the first time, singing some of Stephen Sondheim’s classic songs from the Tony-winning musical.
Meryl Streep gets the biggest spotlight as the witch, with James Corden and Emily Blunt as the Baker and his wife, Anna Kendrick and Chris Pine as Cinderella and her Prince, Broadway star Lilla Crawford as Little Red Riding Hood, who encounters a very human-like and decked out Big Bad Wolf in the form of Johnny Depp.
Sondheim’s subversive and darkly comedic take on the most iconic characters of fairy tales and folklore brings the disparate characters into one story as they all head into the forest on various quests, running into each other and singing a song or two along the way.
“Into the Woods” will be released Dec. 25.
