Mötley Crüe Booker Sued in Buenos Aires Concert Dispute

Promoter claims Crüe booker scrüed him out of a performance by Vince Neil and the gang; he’s seeking $2 million

UPDATE, Friday, 8:56 a.m.: Gabe Reed furnished the following statement to TheWrap, calling Vigo’s allegations “completely false”:

We will vigorously defend ourselves against Mr. Vigo’s false claims. The claims that he has made are completely false. He breached the agreement that he had with my company by among other things advertising and selling tickets for a show that had yet to be confirmed. He even advertised a date and a venue that was not approved by me. This was documented by fellow promoters, fans and others. The confusion created by Mr. Vigo’s actions hurt ticket sales to the real Motley Crue shows that I promoted in May and resulted in huge losses.

It was only after Mr. Vigo breached our agreement that we moved on to partner with a local partner in Buenos Aires.

In short, we will see Mr. Vigo in Court.

A concert booker for Mötley Crüe has just been rocked — with a lawsuit.

Dallas-based concert booker Gabe Reed is being sued by concert promoter Ariel Vigo over a proposed Crüe that was to have taken place in Buenos Aires earlier this year.

According to the suit, an agreement was made in December for Reed to deliver the Crüe for Vigo, for a fee of $300,000.

However, the suit alleges, after Vigo forked over a $150,000 deposit, Reed changed his tune, telling Vigo that he was shopping the band around to other promoters.

The band eventually played a Buenos Aires concert with another promoter, and now Vigo claims that he’s out not just the $150,000 deposit, but $2 million dollars that he stood to make from the show.

Vigo is seeking unspecified damages, plus attorney’s fees, court costs and interest.

Gabe Reed Productions did not immediately respond to TheWrap’s request for comment.
