MSNBC Cancels Karen Finney’s ‘Disrupt’

MSNBC ends the cable news anchor’s weekend show after a year

Karen Finney’s weekend cable news show “Disrupt” has been canceled by MSNBC.

“‘Disrupt with Karen Finney’ has ended its year-long run on MSNBC weekends,” an MSNBC spokesperson told TheWrap. “Our thanks to Karen and her team for their great work.”

An individual with knowledge of the situation told TheWrap that no other changes to MSNBC’s schedule were being made.

“Thanks for the support and kind wishes,” Finney told her Twitter followers Thursday. “You’ll still see me on the msnbc airwaves!”

Finney’s show, which featured political roundtable discussions on hot-button topics of the day, had trouble catching on with viewers, regularly finishing fourth among the cable news networks in the key demo and total viewers.

MSNBC is expected to replace her show with documentary programming.
