Fox has given a pilot order to the comedy “Chad: An American Boy” from”Saturday Night Live” alum Nasim Pedrad.

Pedrad, who recently starred on “Scream Queens” and short-lived “Mulaney,” will play a 14 year old boy in the throes of adolescence who is tasked with being the man of the house — leaving him with all the responsibilities of being an adult without any of the perks.

“I’m thrilled to be able to portray a Middle Eastern family not working for or against Jack Bauer on network TV,” said Pedrad in a statement. “Also, a big thank you to Fox for understanding that my true essence is that of an awkward and misguided 14-year-old boy.”

The half-hour, single-camera comedy from 20th Century Fox Television is written by Pedrad and Rob Rosell, who will also serve as executive producers alongside Michael Rotenberg, Dave Becky and Jason Winer, who will direct.
