Ratings: Miss USA Tops Tonys, NBA Finals Towers Over All

Fox’s “Cosmos” finale finishes down on night of stiff competition

Despite special competition from the Tony Awards and Miss USA pageant, ABC’s NBA Finals Game 2 was a slam dunk victory for the network on Sunday.

For CBS, the 2014 Tony Awards were even in demo rating with last year, down slightly in viewers. For NBC, the 2014 Miss USA pageant was up year-to-year.

ABC was first in ratings with a 4.4 rating/14 share in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and first in viewers with an average of 11 million, according to preliminary numbers. Though due to the nature of live sports, the network’s numbers are approximate.

“Jimmy Kimmel Game Night” at 7 p.m. had a 2.2/9 and 6.2 million viewers. “NBA Countdown” at 7:30 got a 2.3/9 and 6.5 million viewers. The game itself at 8 earned a night-high 5.0/15 and 12.6 million viewers.

NBC was second in ratings with a 1.2/4 and third in viewers with 5.4 million. At 7, “Dateline” had a 0.9/4 and 5.1 million viewers. Miss USA at 8 got a 1.4/4 and 5.5 million viewers.

CBS was third in ratings with a 1.1/4 and second in viewers with 7.4 million. At 7, “60 Minutes” had a 1.0/4 and 8.5 million viewers. The Tonys at 8 got a 1.2/4 and 7 million viewers.

Fox was fourth in ratings with a 0.9/3 and in viewers with 2.2 million. “Enlisted” at 7 got a 0.4/2 and 1 million viewers. Following reruns, “Cosmos” at 9 had a 1.1/3 and 3 million viewers.

Telemundo was fifth in ratings with a 0.7/2 and in total viewers with 1.9 million.

Univision was sixth in ratings with a 0.5/2 and in total viewers with 1.2 million.
