NBC’s ‘Chicago Fire’ Sets Wednesday’s Ratings Ablaze

Meanwhile, “Survivor” and “The Masked Singer” season premieres pretty much tied

NBC’s “Chicago Fire” was red hot on Thursday night in the ratings.

The Dick Wolf show, which airs in the middle of the “One Chicago” block at 9 p.m ET/PT, won the night in overall ratings and in the advertiser-loved 18-49 demographic. The series took home a 0.91 in the demo, and more than 7.1 million viewers.

In fact, all three of the Chicago shows outpaced shows on other networks making NBC No. 1 for Wednesday. “Chicago Med” at 8 p.m. ET/PT earned a 0.85 in the demo and had 7.053 million viewers, while the 10 p.m. airing gritty “Chicago P.D.” saw 6.383 million viewers, but a 0.86 in the demo.

“Survivor’s” two-hour Season 42 premiere, which saw two contestants exit, was the fourth most-watched show in viewers with 4.96 million viewers, but 0.84 in the demo, down from Season 41 last fall, which earned a 1.0 and 6 million viewers.

Fox’s “The Masked Singer” Season 7 premiere slightly eclipsed “Survivor” in the demo with 0.87, but was lower in viewers with 4.149 million. In the fall, the Season 6 premiere scored a 1.0 and 6.3 million viewers, marking a stiff drop in viewers.

After “The Masked Singer’s” premiere, “Domino Masters” fell at 9 p.m. ET/PT, seeing just 0.38 in the demo and 1.681 million viewers. 

An encore performance of “FBI,” which aired at 10 p.m. after “Survivor” on CBS earned a 0.21 and 1.934 million viewers.

ABC stuck to repeats of “The Goldbergs” (0.42, 2.334 million viewers) at 8, “The Wonder Years (0.32 and 1.555 million viewers) at 8:30 and “The Conners” (0.28 and 1.755 million viewers) at 9, followed by “Home Economics” (0.21 and had 1.307 million viewers) at 9:30. “A Million Little Things,” which aired at 10 p.m. ET/PT earned a 0.23 and 1.834 million viewers.

The midseason premiere of “The Flash” on The CW saw 592,000 viewers and a 0.14 in the demo, while the premiere of “Kung Fu” Season 2 was up in viewers – 627,000 – but down in the demo with a 0.10.

We do not have Nielsen numbers for Spanish-language broadcast networks Univision and Telemundo.
