‘New Girl’: Schmidt and Cece’s Life Has Become ‘the 3rd Act of a Darren Aronofsky Film’ (Exclusive Video)

Sleep deprivation takes its toll on the parents of young Ruth

Schmidt (Max Greenfield) and Cece (Hannah Simone) are about to face one of the most haunting things in the world: a kid who won’t sleep.

In the above clip from Tuesday’s episode of “New Girl” — which is exclusive to TheWrap — the parents of 3-year-old Ruth (played by twins Rhiannon and Danielle Rockoff) are suffering through extreme exhaustion, as their preschooler refuses to get her butt in bed.

“I was up all night trying to put Ruth to sleep,” Schmidt tells Cece on the phone. “I’m losing my mind, I feel like I’m in the third act of a Darren Aronofsky film.”

Schmidt, who is now the stay at home dad to Cece’s working mom, offers Ruth a check for $6,000 if she agrees to get some shut eye. No dice.

Well, maybe they’ll have more luck getting the little girl tuckered out (and grabbing a few winks of their own) by the end of the episode, which is titled, “Tuesday Meeting.”

Presumably she has to conk out eventually. Though from the looks of things, she has an ungodly amount of energy.

Best of luck, you two.

The final season of “New Girl” airs Tuesdays at 9:30 p.m. ET on Fox.
