New ‘TMNT: Mutants in Manhattan’ Trailer Hits Hard (Video)

Platinum Games brings its unique brand of video game action madness to the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” series

Releasing a big-budget franchise video game tie-in to go along with your big-budget summer blockbuster release has become a rarity, but the “Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles” are doing it this summer.

This morning Activision dropped the second trailer for Platinum Games’ ‘Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutants In Manhattan,” and it’s a doozy, showing off a parade of bosses in the form of familiar villains like mutant rhino Rocksteady and the mutant warthog Bebop, both of whom will also appear in the Michael Bay-produced “TMNT: Out of the Shadows” movie due for release in theaters the first week of June.

“Mutants In Manhattan” is scheduled to hit store shelves a week before the TMNT film, on May 24 for Xbox 360 and One, PlayStation 3 and 4, and PC, though it is not a game adaptation of “Out of the Shadows.”

The game is developed by Japanese studio Platinum Games, which is known for its regular output of action games like “Bayonetta,” “The Legend of Korra,” “Transformers: Devastation” and “Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance.”
