“Night Court” is getting lyrical as the crew turns the memoir of Dan Fielding (John Larroquette) into a musical.

In an exclusive clip of Tuesday night’s episode shared with TheWrap, the full night court crew — including Abby (Melissa Rauch), Gurgs (Lacretta), Flobert (Gary Anthony Williams) and Wyatt (Nyambi Nyambi) — lends a hand to adapting the lengthy memoir.

“You hens done clucking?” Abby said in the clip of the NBC sitcom. “Because this rooster’s about to make the sun come up.”

“I can tell you what this show is in one word: Dan,” Abby continued, though Nyambi’s Wyatt requested her to elaborate in “more words.”

“For me, the moment that best captures the Dan vibe we are all loving is the day you won your first case,” Abby said, to which Dan responds, “Ah, yes, page 823.”

Wyatt then envisions what the scene of Dan first arriving to New York City would look like: “The big man from the Big Easy in the Big Apple with nothing but a dream and a bindle full of gator jerky.”

That’s when the musical really kicks off, with Gurgs stepping in to deliver the musical component with a pianist accompaniment. “I was a boy from the bayou,” Gurgs belted out.

“Now we’re talking sass!” Dan responded.

The official logline for the episode, titled “A Little Night Court Music,” is as follows: “At the behest of producer Sy Hoffman (guest star Richard Kind), Dan and Abby work together to turn Dan’s memoir into a musical. Wyatt tries to help Julianne stay cool when her ex-lover turns up at the courthouse.”

“Night Court” premieres Tuesdays at 8:30 p.m. ET/PT on NBC and streams the next day on Peacock.
