Mel Gibson’s Domestic-Violence Charges Dropped By Ex

TMZ reports that the judge at Wednesday’s hearing was “visibly shocked” by Oksana Grigorieva’s abrupt reversal; decision said to be an “olive branch” to get Gibson to settle civil claim

After a slew of ugly allegations (and a series of embarrassing leaked phone calls), Mel Gibson's ex girlfriend, Oksana Grivorieva, dropped her domestic-violence claim against the actor on Wednesday, TMZ reports.

The protective order that Grigorieva had obtained against Gibson has also been terminated.
The site says that both Judge Scott Gordon and Gibson's lawyer, Stephen Kolodny, were "visibly shocked" when Grigorieva's lawyer, Dan Horowitz, made the announcement.

Sources tell TMZ that the claim was dropped as a sort of olive branch to Gibson, to encourage the settling of the couple's child-custody case involving their one-year-old daughter, Lucia.

According to individuals close to to Grigorieva, she hopes to communicate directly with Gibson rather than through middle-men, now that the protective order has been canceled.
