Oprah Returning to Letterman Show

Returns nearly eight years after her first "Late Show" appearance

Oprah Winfrey is returning to the "Late Show With David Letterman" for the first time in nearly eight years.

She will be making only her second appearance on the show since Dec. 1, 2005. Winfrey and Letterman have both made light over the years of supposed tension between them, which wasn't apparent in Winfrey's previous appearance.

The OWN chairman stars in the upcoming film "Lee Daniels‘ The Butler” as Gloria Gaines, wife of Cecil Gaines (Forest Whitaker), a White House butler who watches history unfold through eight presidencies.

Winfrey will be joined on the show by Paul Rudd, who stars in the new film “Prince Avalanche.”
