Patton Oswalt shared a poignant quote from his 7-year-old daughter Alice on Sunday in the wake of his wife’s tragic death.
“‘When your mom dies you’re the best memory of her. Everything you do is a memory of her.’ — Alice Oswalt, 7,” the comedian wrote on Twitter.
Oswalt’s wife, true crime writer Michelle McNamara, died in her sleep at her Los Angeles home on Apr. 21. She was 46.
McNamara founded the website True Crime Diary, which detailed breaking news and cold cases alike. She eschewed high-profile crimes for more obscure stories, writing about the Golden State Killer and the murder of nurse Melanie Howell in 1976.
“She wrote lines that stung & hummed. 13 years in her presence was happily humbling,” Oswalt wrote on Twitter last week, accompanied by the hashtag #RIPMichelleMcNamara.
