Paula Deen and her agent have ended their business relationship, representatives for the former Food Network star said Thursday.
Deen severed ties with agent Barry Weiner — who was instrumental in her success — after over 10 years of service. Weiner is often credited with turning Deen from a fried chicken cook and self-published chef into one of the most successful cooking personalities of all time.
"Paula Deen has separated from her agent," spokeswoman Elana Weiss told The Wall Street Journal. "She and her family thank him for the tireless effort and dedication over the many years."
Weiss and Weiner did not immediately respond to TheWrap's request for comment.
The fallout for Deen's media and merchandising empire has been vast since she admitted under oath that she's used the N-word in the past. Deen has lost her main on-air gig with The Food Network. Walmart, Novo Nordisk, Ballatine Books, The Food Network, Smithfield Foods, Target and others have also essentially ripped up her contract.
Last year, Forbes magazine estimated that Dean earned $17 million, which made her the fourth-highest-earning celebrity chef.
