“The People v. O.J. Simpson” led all programs in television nominations for the 22nd annual Critics’ Choice Awards, the Broadcast Television Journalists Association announced on Monday.

The FX series cleaned up in the Critics’ Choice Awards movie or limited series categories, with a program nomination and five acting nominations. Lead actors Cuba Gooding Jr. and Courtney B. Vance, lead actress Sarah Paulson and supporting actors Sterling K. Brown and John Travolta were all recognized.

“Game of Thrones” was the most nominated drama series with five, while “Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt” led all comedy series with five. AMC’s miniseries “The Night Manager” also landed five nominations.

“All the Way,” “House of Cards,” “Roots” and “Veep” received four nominations each, while shows with three nominations included “American Crime,” “Black-ish,” “Killing Reagan,” “Modern Family,” “Mr. Robot,” “Ray Donovan,” “Saturday Night Live,” “The Crown” and “Westworld.”

HBO topped all networks with 22 nominations, with ABC and Netflix landing 14 and FX receiving 12.

The Broadcast Television Journalists Association, a partner organization to the Broadcast Film Critics Association, is made up of about 100 journalists who cover television for TV, radio and online outlets. Its Critics’ Choice Awards nominations tend to reflect the mainstream, though a different eligibility period – the calendar year rather than the TV season – allowed it to recognize new shows like “Atlanta,” “This Is Us” and “Westworld” that have not yet been eligible for Emmys.

Many of the recent Emmy winners received Critics’ Choice Awards nominations. But three supporting-actor and actress winners – Ben Mendelsohn for “Bloodline,” Kate McKinnon for “Saturday Night Live” and Maggie Smith for “Downton Abbey” – did not, and neither did any of the Emmys guest-acting winners: Peter Scolari for “Girls” and Tina Fey and Amy Poehler for “Saturday Night Live” in the comedy categories, and Hank Azaria for “Ray Donovan” and Margo Martindale for “The Americans” in drama.

Nominations for the Critics’ Choice Awards’ film categories will be announced on December 1, with the awards show taking place on December 11 at the Barker Hangar in Santa Monica.
