The Bellas are back in the first teaser trailer for “Pitch Perfect 3,” which doesn’t open until December.
“We’re taking you on a global tour with the Bellas!” director Trish Sie says in the teaser while offering a behind-the-scenes glimpse at the filming of the third film in the hit franchise.
DJ Khaled makes an appearance among franchise regulars Rebel Wilson, Anna Kendrick, Hailee Steinfeld, Brittany Snow, Anna Camp and Hailee Steinfeld. The film also stars Ruby Rose, Alexis Knapp, Hana Mae Lee and Kelley Jakle.
“Pitch Perfect 2” boasts the highest-grossing movie musical opening of all time, and its follow-up will be produced by series fixture Paul Brooks of Gold Circle Entertainment. Elizabeth Banks, who was originally set to direct the third movie, will stay on to produce with husband Max Handelman.
“Pitch Perfect 2” grossed more than $287 million worldwide — more than double the original’s $115 million gross.
“Pitch Perfect 3” debuts in theaters on December 22.
