Tuesday would have marked the 58th birthday of music legend Prince, who died April 21 of an opioid overdose.

On Monday, Minnesota governor Mark Dayton proclaimed that June 7 would be Prince Day in his state, but the celebration wasn’t contained to Minnesota’s borders, as social media exploded with tributes to the “Little Red Corvette” singer.

“Supernatural” producer/writer Robbie Thompson took to Twitter to declare that a celebration of Prince shouldn’t be confined to a single 24-hour period, opining, “Every day is #PrinceDay.”

La Toya Jackson, meanwhile, reflected, “Remembering Prince on this special day! May you rest with the best!”

Entrepreneur and activist Anil Dash encouraged fans to follow in their idol’s  charitable footsteps, writing, “A truly fitting way to honor #PrinceDay is to support local music education thru @DonorsChoose, just as Prince did.”

Wisconsin Sen. Tammy Baldwin offered, “Today would have been the superstar’s 58th birthday. He is missed.”

Essence editor-in-chief Vanessa K. De Luca used the day as an opportunity to promote Essence’s Prince tribute issue, writing, “On his born day, we remember @prince #princeday with this loving tribute, now on newsstands.”

The Minnesota Twins celebrated the day by sharing a video of an apparent team tradition.

“In honor of #PrinceDay, enjoy this ritual of vets making sure rookies know the words to ‘Little Red Corvette,’” the team tweeted.
