Ratings: ABC’s ‘Queens’ Dips Below 1.5 Million Viewers vs Fox’s World Series Opener

Not much “high-ness” there

Fox dominated broadcast television last night with Game 1 of the 2021 World Series. CBS was wise enough to go with reruns, but NBC, ABC and The CW rolled out all original programming against the Fall Classic opener.

On ABC, the second episode of “Queens” dipped below 1.5 million viewers (1.472 million, when unrounded). Find last Tuesday’s ratings here.

Due to the nature of live sports, the below Nielsen numbers for Fox are subject to significant adjustment. The Atlanta Braves beat the Houston Astros 6-2 in Game 1.

Fox was first in ratings with a 2.3 in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 10.1 million, according to preliminary numbers. Those were the 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. averages of Game 1.

NBC was second in ratings with a 0.6 and in total viewers with 5 million. “The Voice” at 8 earned a 0.7 rating and 6.4 million total viewers. At 9, “La Brea” put up a 0.6 rating and 5.1 million total viewers. “New Amsterdam” at 10 had a 0.4 rating and 3.6 million total viewers.

ABC was third in ratings with a 0.5 and fourth in total viewers with 2.3 million. “The Bachelorette” from 8 to 10 averaged a 0.6 rating and 2.7 million total viewers. At 10, “Queens” managed a 0.3 rating in the demo, down one-tenth of a point from the series premiere’s 0.4 rating last week.

CBS was fourth in ratings with a 0.4 and third in viewers with 3.5 million, airing all reruns.

The CW was fifth in ratings with a 0.1 and in total viewers with 534,000. “DC’s Stargirl” at 8 had a 0.1 rating and 634,000 total viewers. At 9, “Supergirl” got a 0.1 rating and 434,000 total viewers.

We do not have early Nielsen numbers for Spanish-language networks Univision and Telemundo.
