The CW’s “4400” debut could not match its lead-in, the Season 4 premiere of “All American,” last night. No matter, The CW would’ve finished in last place in ratings and total viewers again anyway.
NBC was the No. 1 broadcast network on Monday, thanks to “The Voice” — and perhaps thanks to NBC carrying the “Monday Night Football” game in New Orleans. ABC, which had “Dancing With the Stars,” was not far behind.
CBS and Fox were pretty far behind, though CBS has the excuse of airing just reruns. (It had the NFL game on for one primetime hour in Seattle.)
Due to the nature of live sports, the below Nielsen numbers for NBC and CBS (though mostly NBC) should be considered subject to some extra adjustment.
NBC was first in ratings with a 0.7 in the advertiser-coveted 18-49 demographic and in total viewers with an average of 5.5 million, according to preliminary numbers. “The Voice” from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. averaged a 0.9 rating and 6.9 million total viewers. At 10, “Ordinary Joe” had a 0.4 rating and 2.8 million total viewers.
ABC was second in ratings with a 0.6 and in total viewers with 4.4 million. “Dancing With the Stars” from 8 to 10 averaged a 0.6 rating and 4.5 million total viewers. At 10, “The Good Doctor” got a 0.4 and 4 million total viewers.
CBS and Fox tied for third in ratings, both with a 0.3. CBS was third in total viewers with 3.5 million, Fox was fourth with 1.6 million.
CBS aired all reruns last night.
For Fox, a special episode of “The Masked Singer” at 8 received a not-so-special 0.4 rating and 2.1 million total viewers. “The Big Leap” at 9 settled for a 0.2 rating and 1 million total viewers.
Airing on a special night, due to the start of the World Series on Wednesday, this week’s “Masked Singer” featured no elimination and instead was made up of an “all-time countdown” of the best performances over the Fox singing competition’s six-season run.
The CW was fifth in ratings with a 0.2 and in total viewers with 594,000. The “All American” Season 4 premiere at 8 had a 0.2 rating and 652,000 total viewers. At 9, the series premiere of “4400” got a 0.1 rating and 535,000 total viewers.
We do not have early Nielsen numbers for Spanish-language networks Univision and Telemundo.
